Weekend in Austin

How is everyone? Having a swell Wednesday night? I sure hope so! I’m currently stuck on campus studying for a big exam that I have tomorrow at noon. Yay! Though, I burned myself out preparing for the exam I had this afternoon that now I’m really quite drained and can’t seem to focus on judicial institutions or anything of the sort. I gotta say, Comparative politics/political science is definitely not my strongest focus. Anyway, so this weekend I finally got myself out of my university city! That’s a true yay! My mom is traveling this week and stopped by to visit my sister in Austin so I made the trip as well! I’ll tell you a bit about it before I continue reading about judicial activism. So after class on Friday, my dear friend Corey and I made the 1 1/2- 2 hour journey and would you believe it, hit traffic. Whoops. But it was totally alright- we got there basically on time and I got to just hang out with my sister while we waited to pick my momma up at the airport. Just those few minutes outside the airport made me rather excited for an adventure! Anyway, the entire weekend was full of thrift shopping, walking around, and just enjoying the family being partially reunited. It’ll be around three weeks until we get everyone back in one city. Ever since I moved to university, and then my sister moved away to grad school, the family hasn’t gotten the change to be together as often besides vacations. Texas is so large we have to travel 5-7 hours just to get to each other. Yikes! Overall, it was a solid and much needed weekend away from the normal routine of my city. Though, I will admit, at the end of the weekend in Austin, I was remarkably ready to get back to my calm and sometimes boring routine. Austin is too crazy for me!
How were yall’s weekends? Do anything exciting?
Here are a few more snapshots from the past week of my life, of course involving, my cat.

I even accidentally purchased a 13 dollar Nat Geo- giant whoops! I purchased/my mom and sister purchased me in total, three frames, three mugs, two zip up jackets, one peacoat, one pair of leather boots, a blanket, two film cameras, two shirts, one scarf, one travel bag, and probably a few other things I’m forgetting as I type this.
