Late night mirror selfie post because I just want to show off my freshly dyed overalls!!! I bought these second hand off poshmark for $10 and when they arrived I was disappointed in how faded and worn in they looked! So over a year later, I finally dyed them thanks to my trusted @ritdye and I soooo in love with them. I don’t want to take them off now 😭Goes to show you can extend the life of clothing by just getting a little experimental! #ritdye #refashion #sustainablefashion oh! It’s northern lights season which means I’m just dreaming about witnessing them again with Kevin. Until then at least we have Iceland ❤️

BULK SHOPPING 🛒 With all the scary environmental catastrophes that are and have been occurring, it seems like our spirits may be conflicted. We’re in despair but hopeful. I Know it seems as if everyday you learn new information on something being bad and polluting. Trust me- I know. All of a sudden you’re asking yourself, “man, what Can I enjoy!?” When your sustainability eyes open up you almost yearn to shut them again. Because even grocery shopping becomes SO difficult as you go through aisles of plastic and non-recyclable material. What I have discovered is that bulk shopping is a significant key to lessening my waste. I go to @sprouts specifically for their plastic free apricots, but I always stock up on my morning breakfast: granola, cranberries, sliced almonds, and some yogurt in a glass jar (or Culina). Bulk shopping can be intimidating at first but the more you do it the easier it is! All you have to do is take your old containers, weigh them empty, write the weight and the product code down, and then fill it up! No need to go out and buy new mason jars- you can use old tubberware and reuse pasta or sauce jars. It’s a little longer of a process but trust me, you’ll save a whole bunch of those shitty plastic bags from ending up in the ocean. Took a nap earlier and now I can’t fall asleep 🙀 my body isn’t used to taking afternoon naps anymore! Does this mean I’m fully adjusted to being on the ground in one time zone permanently? I gotta say, having a set eating schedule and not munching on random snacks throughout the day has been as blissful as I imagined. Although I will admit I still drink soda (but less!!) I’m not sure I’m exactly “healthier” than when I was flying, but I sure do feel it. Now if only I could get some sleep!

I’m so happy to be looking from the ground up. It feels just as I imagined. Edit and update: I just posted a new blog post on my site! It’s about some things I’ve learned these past couple weeks of free time- aka unemployment. #blog #texas #houstonblogger
